On April 1, 2020, the WSJ published an article by Andrea Petersen entitled “Divorce Gets Even Trickier”. In a sentence, the key to this wonderful piece lies in these words: Re concerns about health issues during visitations, Ms. Petersen “advises parents to defer to the perspective of the more anxious parent”. This practical tip is in the child’s best interests. Sometimes the weapons of war need to be put away. Cooperate during this time with you ex if they wish to be extra cautious. Help the worried parent feel safe. It may change the whole communication dynamic for the better. It certainly will help your children during a very difficult time for them.
