There is a news report that MacKenzie Bezos, ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, is going to give half of her $37 billion (with a “b”) divorce settlement to charitable causes. And what was the reaction of her ex-spouse? “MacKenzie is going to be amazing and effective at philanthropy. Go get ’em MacKenzie.”

Divorce is one of life’s truly traumatic events. It is often a task for a divorced party to dream about what the future might bring. For MacKenzie Bezos, she intends to generously fund worthwhile humanitarian causes. She will do her part to make this world a better place. For ex-husband Jeff, there is more than a little admiration for what his former spouse plans to do. Would this gift had been promised if the Bezos’ had not divorced? We can only conjecture. However, it is clear that MacKenzie Bezos has decided to start the new chapter in her life with humanitarian strivings of unreal proportions. Mr. Jeff Bezos has expressed his admiration for an ex-spouse. It may be a bit too-Hollywood for the taste of some, but if beats the enmity and despair that plague so many who have experienced divorce. There is indeed life after divorce.
