Matthew Yglesias wrote an interesting piece (well-worth the read) on truth-telling at https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/5/30/15631710/trump-bullshit. His premise is that lying is when a person tries to convince his audience of the veracity of a false statement. BS’ing is the term he applies to President Trump, as Trumpian statements tend to be diversions, non-sequiturs, or impertinent statements. The bottom line though is that neither lying nor BS’ing is a virtuous activity.

The article above may give some insight into the mediation process. Mediation is neither for lying nor for BS’ing. It is a way to exchange ideas, have fruitful dialogue, nd try to attain Win-Win. Want to bluff and bluster? Litigation may well be for you. Want to attain civility and solutions to knotty issues? Mediation is what you want. Mediate don’t litigate.
