A Lesson From “Anyone But Trump”/Martin Rosenfeld, JD

A recent trend is the “Anyone But Trump” movement. Recently, a Republican stalwart was asked if this feeling had dissipated since the rivals to Trump had been defeated. It was now inevitable that Mr. Trump would be the standard bearer for the Republicans. The response was “I still can’t vote for him. I owe it to my children not to vote for a racist, misogynist, etc., etc.”

Sometimes the best test is what is it that we owe to our children. Have a secret desire to turn your divorce into hand-to-hand combat? Ask yourself what you owe to your children. Is it in their interests that the divorce be amicable or that it be a horrid experience for all. This might be good for a bumper sticker: ” Anything but litigation. You owe it to your children, and to yourself. Mediate don’t litigate.
