Divorce Magazine reported the following about divorce and stress in June 2014:

According to the noted “Social Readjustment Rating Scale” (also known as the “Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale”), except for the death of a spouse or child, divorce produces more stress than any other life event. If stress is as damaging to our body and soul, as is frequently reported, it makes sense to seek to reduce stress in the divorce process. Ask a simple question…which appears to be less stressful, mediation or litigation? The answer is obvious; mediate don’t litigate.
