Egypt and Mediation/Martin Rosenfeld, JD

Egypt has volunteered to act as a mediator in the battle between Israel and Hamas. What has Egypt done so far? It has tried and failed to get a process begun. Yet we continue to read about Egypt and a possible role. Why is that? The message here is that mediation, unlike litigation/confrontation brings hope. Once mediation is closed off, much of hope fades away. The thought being accentuated here is that if you wish to live with the idea that a positive outcome is still possible, try mediation. If you have given up, confrontation is the option left to you. Mediate don’t litigate.
